Born a crime by Trevor Noah
Trevor Noah's Born a crime book is a wonderfully light story that goes over the topics of racism and apartheid while making them light-hearted and funny. He shares normally tragic stories, but makes them easy to digest by adding humor into them. He goes over his early life on living during apartheid, and how even his birth of being colored was illegal, thus the title of the book. He talks of religion and how much it was in his life, how he was a troublemaker in very strict places, going from smaller scale places like catholic school, to large scale places and things, like apartheid. He explains how he managed to survive in places where he didn't fit in either Black or White, and how he came up with a solution to blending into any culture. He was, as he said, a cultural chameleon.
I highly reccomend reading this book becaue of it's ability to bring humor into such a sad subject. Trevor Noah has lived a brilliant life and everyone should know about it.
