Virtual school vs. brick and mortar

This is a webpage about the differences between virtual school and brick and mortor school and seeing which one I prefer.

First off, Let's start with virtual school. At my old school it was pretty hectic and last minute, and there were many manditory meetings to go to that could be stressful. At my new school however, an organization that was actually made to be an online school, it was a lot more relaxed. The meeting were for the most part not manditory, I could get a lot more sleep considering that everything was assinged on Monday and the requirement was to get the work done by Friday. With this schedule, I could adjust my school times in order to get a good amount of sleep. The thing about virtual school however, made me feel like I missed out on a year of my life. It was a very relaxed experience, but I barely talked to anybody and barely saw my peers.

Brick and mortar schools however have a lot of socializing happening. Brick and mortar schools do have a lot of downsides as well though. First of all it can be really hard to get a good amount of sleep if you get lots of homework from school, or even if you just have a life to live. All in all, it depends on whether you would rather get better sleep or more socializing.

Here are the benefits and losses from virtual school

  • schedule is a lot more flexible
  • you can sleep much more and better because of the abstract class
  • mostly cut off from world
  • resources are brought by students

Here are the benefits and losses from brick and mortar school

  • builds social skills
  • resources are provided by school(papers, computer access, etc)
  • much more strict schedule
  • students have a much harder time at getting the rest they need

  1. option 1- A much more relaxed experience but cut off socially
  2. option 2- A more stressful enviornment but much better socially
