The Well of Ascencion by Brandon Sanderson
This is a fascinating book sequel to Mistborn. It deals with the reprecussions of a people having a dramatic change in their leadership, as well as how the world has been thrown into chaos and how the main character's are trying to fix it. It deals with one of the main character's (Elend venture) father coming back in order to take control of the new empire. There is lots of build up in this book, with three armies in front of the city, none wanting to attack first. This standoff constantly builds up tension and forces everyone involved to make tough decisions on whether this is worth it or not.

This is definitely a slower burn then the previous book, but gives important information relevant to the third book in the series. This book definitely had a lot more deception and waiting then the brute force and power of the first book, but a fun read nonetheless. I highly recommend reading this book.
